James Storm vs. Robert Roode:

What I Liked:

The connection in the ring between two fierce competitors. When you separate a tag team and throw them in a one on one match, you never know what you're going to get. I really enjoyed seeing Roode and Storm battle back and forth, as both men know each other's set skills. It made an easy transition, as well as chemistry and reversals to enhance the match from point A to point B. I also enjoyed the mixture of neckbreakers, followed by DDT's. These are essential moves that are commonly executed by both men. It was refreshing that Storm got much of the early offense, controlled Roode, and controlled the pacing inside the ring. Angle trying to get Roode to win was a nice curveball, unexpected, and done perfectly. Roode did not see Storm get attacked, but also won clean as well. It was a good ending heading into the last chapter next week before Bound For Glory.

What I Disliked:

This should have been next week's main event. They should have had something happen with Storm/Roode/Angle that made us question and anticipate what will happen at Bound For Glory. That would drive more attention and more buys to TNA. That really is the only thing I disliked.

Grade of Segment: A

Hogan Fakes his Retirement:

What I Liked:

Hogan teasing his retirement made me laugh. Who really believes this? Hulk will never retire, and this stupid angle was comical to me. Hogan is who he is, a guy who can't get enough of the spotlight. I did like it though, ironically enough, because Sting made it work. Sting talks about how there are cameras everywhere, and we see him and Bischoff wanting more money. They make up the retirement angle, look embarrassed, and get upset. Hogan talking before he thinks was good as well. He has always been known to do this.

What I Disliked:

How unrealistic this was, and how it seems they run out of ideas because Hogan is not wrestling until the Pay Per View. Why not have Sting face someone, have Hogan interfere, but make it somewhat different. This was more of a comical and "uh-oh" segment for Hogan to make him look scared, a fool, and dumbfounded. I really feel that Hogan and Sting will be way below average, and it is a shame because Sting can still go. Impact Featured no X Division, no RVD, and missed out on some storylines that needed more build, like the tag team division.
