Title This: WWE Super Smackdown Reaction 8-30-2011

Contract Signing Review:

Both men come out, as Punk asks why this is even necessary? Triple H said he is tired of what Punk has done, such as disrespecting his family, paying for his theme song, his new shirt, and various other means. Punk says he wants the old Triple H because the new one sucks. He says Vince could not separate personal issues and Triple H can't either. Punk says he loves the WWE. Punk says he wants change, and knows when things suck. The crowd gets behind him, and says we are dying for a change. Triple H says some of the people love the WWE and do not need change. Can it be better, Triple H says yes. He compares himself to Punk. Punk says he is doing this because he is a fan still, and he knows what it takes to make this place fun again. He bashes what Triple H has done. He asks to Triple H not to suspend him after he kicks his ass at Night of Champions. They both sign the contract, and Triple H says it is personal. Out comes Kevin Nash, who kicks Punk in the face, and then shoves Triple H to the mat.

Reaction:

Very solid segment here building and explaining the change of the match very quickly. I enjoyed the realistic happenings between Triple H and CM Punk, as both men bickered back and forth but it did not seem to be scripted. They interrupted one another before the sentence came out, which was a nice little change from usual arguments. We had the usual stick from Punk, and we also had H talk from the heart, which, like it or not, he has always been good at his timing on the microphone. Nash coming out adds yet another wrinkle, knocking down both men. Who is he more upset with, and who is Nash hypothetically "working" for? This segment gets an A. Well done by everyone on what could have been another typical contract signing, but thanks to Nash, we continue to wonder what will happen next, and that is key in episodic television.

Sheamus vs. Great Khali Review:

Sheamus starts off getting beaten down by Khali with his typical offense, until Sheamus hits Khali with chops to the chest. He hits a flying shoulder block and takes down Khali. Jinder Mahal enters, and Sheamus finally fends both of them off. He hits Mahal with the Celtic Cross.

Reaction:

Not too good of a match, given Khali was involved. I did really enjoy seeing Sheamus fend off both men and look extremely powerful after the match. He keeps going and going, which is what you need from your second most popular face on Smackdown. He should never face these two again, and stick with feuds with Barrett, Rhodes, Henry, Christian, and Orton players. These are elites. This segment gets a C, just because of the lack of match time and excitement.
