Title This: Impact Wrestling 8/25/11 Reaction

Opening Segment Review:

Kurt Angle opens the show telling Crimson that he is repaying the favor and calling him out this week. Crimson comes out and Kurt says he either has balls for calling him out, or he is a jackass. Angle says he is going to make him famous tonight, and he will end his streak and career, just because Crimson has disrespected him. Crimson says that tonight he will earn respect. Also, he wants Kurt to try and take him out tonight. Out comes Immortal. Bully Ray talks up Angle. Angle says he wants to handle Crimson himself, and does not want any of their help. Tonight, Angle plans on making Crimson famous.

Jackie, ODB, and Velvet Sky discuss backstage about teaming up tonight with Jackie. She says she can beat anyone up, including the cameraman.

Reaction:

A very solid beginning of Impact Wrestling, hyping up the main event like they should. They have invested some good television time to Angle and Crimson over the past few weeks, and you can see the chemistry both men have on the microphone together. This is a typical storyline of respect, but the way Crimson speaks and pushes Angle, it really gets you intrigued as to who will actually win the match. This segment gets a B+

Backstage Segment Review:

Hogan, Bischoff, and Flair are backstage in their office. Hogan and Bischoff are still upset about the stipulation Flair made last week. Hogan says Sting is out of his mind, which is why he does not want to get in the ring with him. Hogan devises a plan to squash Sting and end this quickly.

Reaction:

Put a match here. Too many segments talking and not enough wrestling for the first 20 minutes. I like how you see all three of these guys, who are totally different character and people, devise a plan together. I do not mind this because they are big enough names as veterans to push this further to Sting. This segment gets a C. Out of place in the show.

Angelina Love, Sarita and Rosita vs. Jackie, ODB and Velvet Sky Review:

A typical six knockouts match here. Sarita and Jackie exchange blows to the stomach and chest. Velvet enters and kicks Sarita off the ropes. We see all six women in the ring. Angelina hits an inverted DDT on Velvet. We see teamwork from Jackie and ODB. The finish sees Velvet being dragged into the ring to Angelina, and throw her on top to make the cover for the win.

Reaction:

An okay match with a few nice moves, including the inverted DDT which was executed well. You can see the talent with these knockouts, and it was good to see a handful of them getting a chance to show their talents. I wish they had a few more minutes, because the match seemed rushed from one spot to the next. There was not much of a progression and build to the finish. This segment gets a C-.
