The Fan’s Perspective! Back on the Road Again…

Hello all you wrestling fans and welcome to another edition of The Fan’s Perspective! This week I have learned about TNA’s primetime move and am thrilled to see that what I wrote a couple weeks ago has come true!

TNA’s primetime specials are no more and a regular primetime slot has opened up to them via SpikeTV’s generousity. I am personally excited about the new opportunity for TNA!

The possibilities for TNA are endless and then when you add them to the Thursday Night line-up….WOW!

I know that, at times, my blind passion for TNA Wrestling can blind me to the things that the company is doing wrong. So, with that said I will quickly and thoroughly go over what needs to be improved upon before TNA goes primetime!

1. STING

Sting signed a one-year contract with TNA earlier this year. Sting then made a glorious return to wrestling after almost a two-year absence. And we were told that he was ready for a full year of being back to wrestling…but then he retires?

I’m sorry but that make no sense to me! Sting…the greatest and most popular performer to never sign with WWE…the seven-time WCW World Champion…the ICON…and his big storyline is retirement? Fans, I know you agree with me when I say that this decision was a horrible one. The first thing that needs to change is Sting needs to be brought back to the ring and showcased as a true main-event player and not a special treat. So, this leads me to my number-1 rated thing that needs to be changed in time for primetime…Sting needs to be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion! They need to milk Sting for every dollar until December 31st, 2006 at 11:59 pm.

2. Raven

Raven has been involved with a major storyline in TNA since Slammiversary of last year. Now, he has been fired and the storyline is still going on. It seems as if TNA management and Double J’s faction are headed for a collision course pretty soon…and Raven seems to be in the epicenter of that explosion. But, do we really need to wait another 2-3 months for an explanation as to what’s going on? I think not. I seriously believe that Raven needs this month off and he should return at Destination X by attacking Larry Z and putting him out of action forever. There should be no waiting until April 23rd, 2006! Raven needs to return ASAP!

3. X-Division

When the company first received national exposure on FSN, the company had pushed the X-style of wrestling to a whole new level. They did this in an attempt to be an actual alternative to WWE. Nowadays, it seems as if the current booking committee have forgotten that there are certain stars that need to be showcased in the X-title scene. Matt Bentley, Chris Sabin, Aries, Strong, Williams, Dutt, Shark Boy, Moore, and Shelley all deserve their title shots at TNA PPVs. The scene doesn’t need to be centered around Styles, Daniels, and Joe. Fans will like them even if they aren’t in a title hunt. This brings me to my third thing that needs to be improved upon before primetime…the X-Division needs a new champion.

4. The Truth

Now, I can see that TNA has been doing a lot lately to make The Truth re-emerge as a singles star and possibly even a contender to the NWA title, but he needs to be featured on a PPV broadcast against someone other than Team Canada. Book the man against Jarrett, Brown, Abyss, Harris, etc. anyone that would actually mean anything if he beat him. Truth cannot gain momentum if the tire isn’t pumped full of air…so for my fourth improvement that TNA needs to make, PUSH THE TRUTH!

5. Tag Team Division

If you’re a new fan and tuned into iMPACT! for the first time within the last 3 months, you wouldn’t know that TNA has the best tag division in the United States. Because you haven’t seen Quartermain and Lovett, The Naturals, The real Team Canada, etc. on a regular basis. All you’ve seen is AMW vs Team 3D. I’ll be quite brunt about this…Job 3D to AMW and move AMW on to a new feud with The Naturals or the James Gang. Then you could move 3D into a feud with LAX or Canada. My final improvement that TNA needs to make…Keep TNA’s home-grown credibility by allowing AMW to defeat 3D cleanly!

And So It Is Written And So It Shall Come To Be Known As The Fan’s Perspective!
