My 2010 Ring of Honor Experience

Ring of Honor’s style is big and physical and the knock that the wrestlers do “too much” is at times, fair. When fans are paying top dollar to see the best available talent from all across the globe, the ROH wrestlers gave everything they had in every match, no matter where it was on the card. The constant preaching from Cornette, Jerry Lynn and others to make everything mean more in the ring is getting through. Cornette said after Final Battle that this was the best ROH show he’s been a part of from top to bottom. Every match from the opening contest to the main event fit their role perfectly.

The Internet Pay-Per-View is the most exciting innovation in wrestling in 2010 and ROH is the leader of the pack. ROH’s audience for each iPPV grew, despite some technical glitches and has a growing audience to build upon. The product is good… the production has to continue to improve. David Lagana does an outstanding job as producer/director and the ROH leadership is calm under fire (even Cornette, whose blood pressure is much lower in ROH)

At the start of this article, I said that I didn’t think I would ever announce for ROH. But changes happen within the industry that even (so-called) experts like us can’t predict. And the funny thing is that ROH’s wrestling is so good that I had to step up my game because the fans demand the best. If the boys in the ring completely bust their asses, the least I can do is over-prepare. Dave Prazak has been great to work with and I hope I get the chance to continue to improve.

Roderick Strong is the ROH World Champion and has grown in confidence since winning the belt in September. The Kings of Wrestling are the ROH Tag Team Champions… Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli are the best team in the world. Want to debate me on it? You’ll lose. Christopher Daniels is the Television Champion and has discovered the fountain of youth, he’s never been better.

I didn’t even mention Davey Richards who may be the best of them all. His American Wolf tag team partner Eddie Edwards has main event talent at any level. The Briscoe Brothers are the best team in ROH history and aren’t even 30 yet. In fact, in spite of the veteran presence of the Fallen Angel and Homicide, Ring of Honor features an amazingly young roster. Young and improving…
