Chris & Nick’s 2011 WWE Royal Rumble “Pay-Per-Review”

Diva’s Championship Match

Eve defeats Natalya (c), Michelle McCool and Layla

Chris: While the best part of this match was still Eve’s perfectly shaped behind (we are a PG-rated website, Nick), I have to give them props on the finish.  Sometimes finishes that have to be timed to perfection like that simply don’t work out – especially when it’s expected from the women of the WWE.  However, that was not the case last night as Michelle McCool hit her cue at the exact moment she needed to in order for the pin count to match up.  Eve has come a long way with her in-ring abilities and the four of them certainly gave it their all in last night’s match.

Nick: I’ll agree with you that the match finish was executed well from a technical standpoint, but the fact that the crowd couldn’t have cared less overshadowed anything the women did. It could be that WWE is saving Awesome Kong vs Natalya for a time when Kong has the title and is the big bad heel, but in the meantime, the lack of pop for Eve shows how desperate the Divas division is right now in WWE. I’ve said it before and I still maintain that the tag team title and division should be featured solely on one brand, and the Divas title and division should be featured solely on the other. It would give more depth to both divisions instead of spreading them thin amongst two shows.
