Marc Singer Takes on ‘Arrow’ Season 3

Arrow” has a tendency to draw upon DC Comics characters beyond the circle of Green Arrow and his enemies. But the latest addition to the cast of “Arrow” is pushing beyond the traditional list of characters and getting a little “weird.”

Comic Book Resources is reporting that Marc Singer has been signed to play General Matthew Shrieve on a recurring basis in “Arrow.” General Shrieve was created by J. M. DeMatteis and artist Pat Broderick as the leader of the Creature Commandos (which included Frankenstein’s Monster during World War II) within the pages of Weird War Tales. However, the character has appeared only sporadically in comics.

For “Arrow,” Shrieve is said to “play a significant role in the latter portion of the season’s flashback storyline.” However, it’s highly doubtful that Shrieve will be commanding actual monsters on this show.
