NBA Draft 2014: Cavs Take Andrew Wiggins With No. 1 Pick

Cleveland had five minutes to make their pick; they used up their entire five minutes and then some, letting the clock run out entirely. However, in the end, they chose the most electrifying player off the board. Wiggins is a 6-foot-8 Canadian who’s been hyped since his senior year of high school as possibly being the second coming of Michael Jordan.

ESPN reporter Jay Williams asked Wiggins how he’ll prove his worth of being the No. 1 pick following his selection. Wiggins said, “I’m just going in and creating impact off the bat, just playing my game, have confidence in myself…because I gotta believe in myself before anyone else can. “

The Milwaukee Bucks took Duke guard Jabari Parker with the No. 2 overall pick, who is also widely considered a possible instant All-Star. The Philadelphia 76ers selected 7-foot center Joel Embiid out of Kansas third overall.

The 2014 draft class is so rich in talent it’s been heavily predicted as what could be the best draft since 1984 — a draft class that gave us Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and John Stockton.
