Seattle Fans Don’t Jaywalk During Super Bowl Celebration

Seattle fans have a big reputation of being very loud. The famed 12th Man fans broke records for crowd noise. Even when the crowds were slim, the fans of the Huskies, Mariners and Sounders can be loud and boisterous. It is ironic that outside of the stadium, the people of Seattle have a reputation for being a humble, passive-aggressive, down-to-Earth sort of people.

Even with that reputation, it is a bit surprising to see video that came out from last night’s Super Bowl celebration. The crowds in the neighborhood of Ballard, took to the streets much like any other riots in other cities after big wins.

However, the crowds still obeyed the crosswalk signals!

A Twitter hashtag trend was started #HowSeattleRiots for the locals to make some fun at the passive aggressive reputation. Here are some of our favorites:

It is always regrettable to see riots occurring and even worse when the police are ill prepared. It is good to see Seattle handle their first major pro championship since 1979 so well… and with their famous self-deprecating humor.
