Rising from the eclectic underground of San Francisco’s performance art scene, producers David Satori and Tommy Cappel have hit a new high with their collaborative partnership alongside world-renowned belly dance performer and music producer Zoe Jakes. Together they are known as Beats Antique, and their new album Contraption v. II is the perfect bridge between atmospheric chill tracks and all-out electro-party overdrive.
Available now on iTunes, Contraption v. II carries the torch from 2009’s Contraption v. I by incorporating a vast variety of sounds including Middle Eastern grooves, Balkan wedding music, flamenco, French Gypsy jazz, hip-hop, dub reggae, and other Eastern tonalities, all pulled together with electronica.
Growing like wildfire under the canopy of live electronica and experimental world fusion music, the acclaimed musical trio Beats Antique launch their fall tour – named Animale Mechanique – to finish out 2012 by covering 35 locations in North America, and ending with a once-in-a lifetime historical show in front of The Pyramids in Egypt on the Winter Solstice for the Great Convergence festival. More details on that here. Providing the world doesn’t end according to the Mayan predictions, the group will then descend on Lake Tahoe for the year-ending SnowGlobe festival.
