The Stones, McCartney, Dylan, The Who, Waters and Young Confirm Desert Trip Mega-Fest

Six of the most legendary living names in music will perform on the same bill for the first time ever this fall, and you’re going to pay a mighty price to attend this once in a lifetime event. The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, the Who, Neil Young and Roger Waters have all been confirmed to play the Desert Trip Festival, taking place in Indio, California on October 7, 8 and 9.

The three night concert, held on the same grounds as the Coachella festival, launches Friday night, October 7 with The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, followed on Saturday night, October 8 by Paul McCartney and Neil Young + Promise of the Real, with events closing Sunday night, October 9 with Roger Waters and The Who.

Performances will begin after sunset, wherein each artist will play a full set. Located at the home of the critically acclaimed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this is the only time and place to see this incredible lineup.

The Who’s Roger Daltrey first let the news slip last month. “It’s a fantastic idea for a festival,” he told Toronto Sun in late April. “It’s the greatest remains of our era. I’m glad we made it.” He also speculated that putting together such a big bill might lead to a ticketing frenzy. “I just hope a lot of normal fans can get tickets before they get snatched up.”

“It’s so special in so many ways, because you won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again,” Young’s manager, Elliot Roberts, told Los Angeles Times in April. “It’s a show I look forward to more than any show in a long time.”
