This week’s ElectroTrack Therapy is special for a number of reasons:
First, it’s a collaboration between two of my favorite artists on the scene. One, a legendary hip hop icon that’s worked with everyone from Mos Def to Common to Madlib. The other, one of EDM’s fastest rising mid tempo, funky jazz glitch home boys who just released his own strain of marijuana.
And second, it’s a remix by one of the smoothest cats out there right now, that can’t help but lull you into his deep house trance whenever you lace up his tracks.
Without further delay, the track is called “For The Love” – originally a Griz beat featuring Talib Kweli, Autograf has masterfully remixed this tune with his signature house vibe and sultry bass undertones.
The track starts off nice and slow with melodic keys dancing in the background of a strong hip hop drum line. The snare emerges as finger snaps, but evolves into a standard live kit as the song picks up. An angelic autotuned female vocal line gives the track some more momentum as it crescendos into the drop. Then, a couple quick bars of undeniable Griz beats, and boom – Talib comes in with avengence and catapults the track into a full out get down jam.
