Child of the Korn | Nu-Metal Band Will Tour with 12-Year-Old

Korn has announced on their Facebook that they’re recruiting the twelve year old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo to accompany them on their upcoming South American tour.

Tye Trujillo wasn’t even born when Korn was at the height of their nu-metal powers back in the mid-to-late ’90s, yet will replace the band’s longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who will not join the tour for “unforeseen circumstances,” but will rejoin the group in time for their North American tour in May. 

This is no stunt casting as Tye has earned his metal stripes as a member of the Helmets, a group of Hessian rug rats that has performed at festivals like BottleRock, Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza’s Kidsapalooza stage. Check out a clip of the father and son slappin’ the bass below.
