I live near New York City and I take the subway quite often, so I already feel like I’ve been part of a “Rat Cafe” for years. But hey, now San Francisco will have their own.

Only for two days this coming summer (July 1 and July 7), San Francisco will be the home to a pop-up rat cafe. And what the hell is a rat cafe? Well apparently customers will be able to have their coffee and their treats in the company of rats. Because things that no one asked for is apparently what we are getting. The makers behind this idea is The San Francisco Dungeon, which is a tourist attraction where actors reenact things from the region’s history.

Interested in drinking coffee and working on your novel while a rat hangs with you? Great. Tickets will cost you $49.99 and include coffee, tea or water and a breakfast pastry. That’s right, folks, 50 dollars in order to hang with rats.

So forget about the Golden Gate Bridge — if you’re headed to San Fran you might as well hang out with a bunch of rats.
