Even after 27 seasons everyone’s favorite animated family “The Simpsons” are still on the air, and while they are of course not as funny as they once were, that doesn’t mean that we still aren’t interested in learning about that yellow family. And that’s why we shared 14 fun “The Simpsons” facts you never knew. But now, thanks to Vox, we can share with you another fact: How much does Homer Simpson actually earn?

The folks at Vox did their research and actually figured out just how much Homer makes working at Mr. Burns’ nuclear plant. And all it took was a split-second shot of Homer’s paycheck from a season seven episode. Check out the video below to find out Homer’s salary.

So when it comes down to it Homer makes $479.60 dollars per week. Which is  $11.99 an hour.

Do more math and that works out to around $24,395 ($37,416 when adjusted for inflation). No wonder he’s had so many jobs.
