Dude Becomes First Human To Lift 1,102 Pounds Then Immediately Pass Out

I’m pretty sure the vast majority of us would look at a list of side effects that includes nose bleeds, immense pressure on the body and unconsciousness and say, “No thanks. I’ll shop elsewhere.”

But ask weightlifting superstar Eddie Hall, and he’ll tell you it was totally worth it.

That’s because Hall became the first human being on the planet to deadlift half a metric ton when he did so Saturday afternoon at the World Deadlift Championships in West Yorkshire, England. And look how much fun he had doing it:

That’s right, kids. Eddie Hall almost died deadlifting half a ton over the weekend, but because he broke the record in the process, it’s something that he’s OK with.

“That nearly killed me,” Hall said. “The pressure on my body was surreal. I passed out after. I had nose bleeds. It’s not healthy doing something like that. But I’ve done it. I’m sure it will be in the history books for a very long time.”

I mean, what do you say about that? You won’t find me cracking a joke about a dude who just deadlifted more than 1,100 pounds, as that sounds like something that could lead to one of those near-death experiences Hall just described.
