Deadly Redback Spider Liquefies and Drinks A Brown Snake

It’s stories like this that prove that I could never hack living in Australia. If the disturbing photo above isn’t already enough for you to turn tail, then perhaps the full story complete with a video will do the trick.

Paul and Bernadette Gibbs live in Morpeth in Hunter Valley, New South Wales, and say it is very common to run into black and brown snakes, redback spiders and eastern water dragons around their home due to its proximity to the Hunter River. But apparently, even in places where such encounters are the norm, something as f–ked up as a redback throwing its web like Spider-Man, poisoning, liquefying, then drinking a snake isn’t something you see every day. This video just about sums it up in the grossest way possible — by making us watch it in real time:



But don’t be too alarmed. According to the Daily Mail, these David and Goliath-style battles to the death between spiders and snakes are becoming more and more common. Wait a second…that’s the most alarming thing I’ve ever heard! But like I said in the beginning, just staying out of Australia altogether seems like the easiest solution.
