It’s one thing to try to kick a soccer ball and miss it completely. But there is something completely demoralizing and depressing about seeing an out of shape man attempting to kick a soccer ball, not coming close, and instead falling over on top of the ball, flattening it, and killing his kid’s hope of playing soccer the rest of the day. (And perhaps the rest of his life.)
