Her name is Hattie Watson.
She is somewhat of a legend. I was seriously obsessed with her from 2011-12 when I first saw her on the web. We got a chance to shoot together three years ago when she was traveling to L.A., and it was a huge inspirational push for me. She’s from the east coast, so we didn’t get a chance to get together again until this week since she moved to California.
To me, she’s our day’s Twiggy. Think whatever you want, she’s the ultimate muse, and besides modeling, she’s a great photographer. Hattie is a good friend with another amazing model/photographer, Alysha Nett, who we featured in our first Pixel Perfect, and when she saw it, she was excited to be a part of it, too.
We shot in the studio at The Dreslyn, an online fashion and design retailer based in DTLA, and I couldn’t be happier with that location. There was plenty of natural light and props to work with, and the shoot went great. Every shot feels very clean and classic; it’s something special about Hattie – she’s classy in any situation, which is rare to see these days.
