Quick Cocktails | How To Make a Grapefruit Daiquirí

The Daiquirí resides – along with the Martini, the Manhattan, and a select handful of other cocktails – in the pantheon of drinks that perfectly reflect the spirit and character of their base liquors without introducing needless complexity or requiring excessive preparation. You can make a Daiquirí in minutes, and with the most basic of bar ingredients.

How To Make a Grapefruit Daiquirí

A great Daiquirí should marry the rum and lime flavors, without either flavor overpowering the other. A quality white rum will carry the right balance of flavor to pair well with the lime and sugar.

You can kick up the classic Daiquirí by substituting sugar with honey syrup or agave, or changing up the citrus flavors. We’ve decided to mix it up by going with a refreshing grapefruit version!

Grapefruit Daiquirí Ingredients

  • 2 oz White Rum
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • ¼ oz Lime Juice
  • ½ Grapefruit

Grapefruit Daiquirí Preparation

Fill your shaker with ice. Add rum, simple syrup, lime juice, and the juice from half of a grapefruit. Shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a grapefruit slice. Enjoy!
