The 2016 New York Fashion Week: Men’s shows offered a versatile array of outerwear throughout the week with hefty overcoats, ponchos, slick leather jackets, fur collar wool coats, and let’s not forget the casual après-ski winter gear for those howling blizzards! The redux layering of great separates, from vests, shirts, sweatshirts, button-ups and rich wool sweaters, were a blend of function and fashion and ranged from delicious to funky, from formal to fab casual. The old military boot is also back in with an avalanche of styles, from hiking to motorcycle boot. The new trending footwear was given a rare spotlight as never before. From the handcrafted boots of Greg Lauren to the black and white sneakers of Second/Layer, styles merged utility and edgy aesthetics in ways that will undoubtedly influence menswear throughout the year and into 2017.
