Piers Morgan is Repeatedly Posting the Photo of Reporter Alison Parker Being Shot on Twitter

Piers Morgan is an altogether loathsome person, but for many his vocal stance on increased gun control in the US was a redeeming quality of his, with him using his platform on CNN to advocate stricter laws when it came to obtaining firearms which led to many American citizens calling for his deportation.

Following the on-air murders of WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, Morgan has shared his opinions on the tragedy on Twitter, calling into questions America’s continued support of lax gun control laws. However, he did so by repeatedly tweeting a still image taken from a video recorded by the murderer, who I won’t mention by name because fuck that guy, as he killed both Parker and Ward.

The following series of tweets, which aren’t so much NSFW as they are NSFL, depict the murderer holding the gun in the direction of Parker, accompanied by captions from Morgan in which he expresses his outrage:

There are those who are arguing that by Morgan and others relentlessly pushing these images under the noses of those who don’t want to view them, the more US citizens are being asked to reevaluate their stance on gun control due to them being confronted with the very real issue of gun-related violence through the disturbing image. However, it should also be considered that this is an image from a video that was recorded by the murderer. It’s a video that the murderer then posted on Facebook, alongside his manifesto, for people to see. It’s an image that the murderer wanted to make its way into the public consciousness, and Morgan and the thousands upon thousands retweeting him are not only allowing this to happen, but actively making it happen.

It should also be noted that both Parker and Ward’s significant others worked at WBDJ, meaning that they worked in the media alongside Morgan. With Morgan being such a prominent figure in the media, then it’s likely that they at least follow people on Twitter who follow Morgan, and who have perhaps retweeted these images and therefore actively placed them in front of the eyes of their loved ones.

Overlooking the continued debate regarding gun control (that should be held each time every one of these sadly frequent tragedies occurs), it is in exceptionally poor taste to promote footage taken by a murderer of his victim’s last moments before he killed them, and the image used to define their lives should certainly not have been taken by his hand.

Oh, and asking your followers to retweet the image of a woman being murdered? Stay classy, Piers, you fucking dolt.
