We’re nearly at the weekend and good news keeps coming out to get us hyped for our days off.
We all work hard, right? And when you work as hard as we all do, it’s nice to know companies are doing the Lord’s work finding ways to enjoy our free time kicking up our feet and not lifting a damn finger. With a recent combination of technology, beer and weed, you might not even want (or be able) to get up until Monday.
Weed-Infused Beer, Self-Driving Coolers Are Coming
According to a story from the Wall Street Journal, Corona’s parent company is dropping $191 million to buy into the weed business. Constellation Brands, the company that distributes beers like Corona and Modelo, has purchased a 9.9 percent stake in Canopy Growth Corporation, a Canadian weed company. The move was made so that the beer company can get in on the ever-growing and profitable marijuana business.
From the WSJ, courtesy of VICE Motherboard:
“We’re not going to stand around twiddling our thumbs,” Rob Sands, CEO of Constellation Brands, told the Wall Street Journal. “We think that [legalization is] highly likely, given what’s happened at the state level. We’re obviously trying to get first-mover advantage.”
I can imagine Constellation’s pitch now…
And while we one day might drink Coronas fused with weed, Honda is already figuring out a way for you to carry your 12-pack without having to haul it yourself. This week, the Japanese company debuted a self-driving, smart cooler concept named RoboCas that follows you around and keeps your brews cold.
Not only is the concept the perfect thing for someone who drank their fair share of weed beer, but they’re just so damn adorable I want to hug one.
Man, now I can’t wait to kick my feet up with the help of this robot when it comes out.
