Located just steps away from Art Basel in Miami Beach, Design Miami is a stunning satellite fair that showcases a selection of cutting-edge art furnishings and high concept décor. The fair is a reasonable size, allowing visitors to take it in without feeling exhausted or overwhelmed by the scale of the offerings. Crave walked the fair, enjoying the range of styles and materials that make interior design an art in its own right. Here are some of our favorites.
Jousse Entreprise, Paris
Featuring works by Maria Pergay, Jousse Entreprise, Paris steals the show with their classic designs that are the very definition of chic. Pergay began working in stainless steel in the mid-1960s, seeing the newly created material “as precious as the most precious wood.” From this, she created a series of furnishings, objects, and interiors that invoke glamour, peace, and gracious repose.
Laffanour / Galerie Downtown, Paris
Laffanour / Galerie Downtown, Paris, brings together exceptional works by Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé. The pieces, selected by François Laffanour, were originally realized for the Chandigarh project in India, which involved designing a new city the size of the capital as “an expression of faith in India’s future.” The result is a sumptuous selection of furnishings, objects, and interiors, as well as Le Corbusier’s original sketches for the project. It is the perfect study of what great design can do, for the mind, body, and soul.

Miss Rosen is a New York-based writer, curator, and brand strategist. There is nothing she adores so much as photography and books. A small part of her wishes she had a proper library, like in the game of Clue. Then she could blaze and write soliloquies to her in and out of print loves.
