Bag Master Ogio Goes Bigio into Apparel

For a few years now, Ogio had the bag business more or less “in the bag.” Makers of tough and durable luggage, backpacks and other carryall items intended for a younger, energetic buyer.

Ogio recently jumped both feet into the shoe and apparel realm, serving up new lines to serve golfers, motorcyclists and other active buyers. Made many of the same materials as their bags and constructed with the same toughness and reliability, Ogio’s new gear stick to a thoroughly athletic aesthetic.

Ogio’s golf bags (such as at the $205 Gotham Stand Bag) compete well against TaylorMade, Nike, Calloway and other manufacturers. The new shoe lines include golf shoes that can be worn on and off the course. While the new spiked golf shoe lines are more limited to on-course use, the City Turf Shoe ($134.99) can double up as a very comfortable street or athletic shoe.

Ogio has been making bags and other transport gear for urban motorcyclists for a while, but the lightweight apparel the company serves up for in-season riding is comfortable and insulated for warm summer riding. But, be warned. Come Autumn out east or Summer in the west, the gear isn’t hearty enough for cruising.

By all industry accounts, the Ogio lines are doing well. It’ll be interesting to see how and when the company looks to expand its shoe and apparel lines in the future.
