After growing up, she left Toronto at the age of 18 to pursue modeling. On her website, she wrote, "I'm a pretty private and quiet person " but hopefully through this site you'll get to know a little more about me and the things that I like."
Shera Bechard landed the Playboy gig as a fluke. "I went to a festival and Playboy cartoonist Doug Sneyd happened to be there and my friend thought it'd be fun to have him draw my photo.long story short, I sent some of my modeling pics to Doug, and he sent them to Hef, and two weeks later I was flown down to do a test shoot" (guysnation.com).
Shera's role models include fellow Canadians Shania Twain and Pamela Anderson, as they showed "you could succeed no matter where you were born and raised."
Regarding her experience getting naked for the camera, Shera Bechard said, "I don't get nervous really doing any photo-shoots.I'm kinda shy in real life, once I'm in front of the camera I feel surprisingly comfortable."
Shera Bechard also appeared in the film "Sweet Karma."
When not working, Shera Bechard loves to travel. She's been to London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Strasbourg, Lille, Austin, Aruba, Tulum, Antigua, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Cub, but her favorites were France and Costa Rica. She would love to visit Germany and Newfoundland soon.
Her pet peeves are people who abuse animals, people who don't care about the environment, and people who mistake her shyness for snobbery. In 30 years, she'd like to be running a bed and breakfast in Costa Rica.
Shera gained some press when she became Hugh Hefner's girlfriend. Hugh, however, got back together with Crystal Harris and Shera left her digs at the Playboy mansion. When she left the Playboy mansion, she tweeted to clear the air. "It's funny how people create drama where there is none. I wasn't kicked out, I'm not jealous. I'm just happy that Hef is happy."
A tidbit people might not know is that Shera studied perfumery in Paris and would like to create her own fragrances.
Shera lives in Los Angeles with her two cats Arthur and Rufus and her dwarf rabbit Ziggy. She would like a house big enough so that she can get two dogs, a Dachshund and a Doberman.
