When Miranda Kerr was 13, she won the Dolly Magazine/Impulse Model Competition. Later she did ads for Billabong. Upon moving to New York, she landed gigs for Levi's, Neiman Marcus and many others, culminating in a contract with Maybelline.
But it was Miranda Kerr's job with Victoria's Secret that put her on the map in 2007, becoming the first ever Australian Victoria's Secret Angel. Miranda Kerr says of contacting Victoria's Secret, "I just remember, like, the first time I met Adriana [Lima], she was so beautiful. I was like, 'Why would they want me? I mean, look at her. She's incredible.' And than I met Heidi and Gisele and I was like, 'What am I doing here?'" (nymag.com).
At first Miranda Kerr modeled Pink, the most junior line, working her way to the Fantasy Treasure Bra. In 2009, she ranked 9th in Forbes list of the highest-paid models.
Miranda Kerr is a practicing Nichiren Buddhist. "I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness. Because just like a rose is beautiful, so is a sunflower, so is a peony. I mean, all flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that's like women, too."
Miranda Kerr eats a diet of mainly organic food. "As I child I cried for my vegies!" She also released her own skincare products, Kora Organics. In 2010, she wrote a book "Treasure Yourself."
Miranda Kerr has a son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, with British actor Orlando Bloom, and admits it will be hard to choose where Flynn will grow up. She told Hello!, "He has three passports: British, Australian and American. Officially he's American, which both of us find amazing."
Miranda Kerr is down to earth, "While it's nice to appreciate the fashion world.what makes you happy are real relationships and the moments you share with loved ones" (In Style Magazine).
There were rumors her marriage was on the rocks. "People make things up because they have nothing better to do. Obviously, I was going to work. I don't wear my ring to photo shoots " I'm not supposed to. So why take it with me?" (Marie Claire Magazine).
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have homes in L.A., the English countryside, as well as a New York apartment. Miranda told nymag.com, "I really feel like the world is our home."
