She's also modeled in campaigns for Calvin Klein, Gap, and Gucci.
In 2005, Donaldson was nominated for British model of the year, losing to Karen Elson, but the nomination was enough to validate her place in fashion, considering she was only two years into her professional career.
Donaldson was discovered in 2003 at the age of 16 while she was shopping with her mother and was seen by a talent scout.
In 2006, she walked the runway at the Versace show and said in a backstage interview, "It's always a really fun show because you can really get into it." She said that this show in particular was a thrill because the models were given more freedom to play with their looks and poses.
In 2007, Donaldson was featured in Vogue's "World's Next Top Models" issue as a person to watch for in the coming years, calling her the "Head Girl." Not surprisingly that claim has come to fruition because since then her career has only gotten bigger. Alber Elbaz says that the tall, elegant blonde is his living muse as Creative Director of Lanven. (AskMen.com)
Donaldson appeared in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. "I am most excited about being here and being involved in such a crazy production," she told FirstPost.com behind the scenes at the show, "It's such an amazing atmosphere." (Firstpost.com)
Since then she was named the face of Christian Dior in 2007, the face of Gucci in 2009 and the face of Aldon in 2011. Donaldson has appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar, V and Vogue as well as the British, Japanese, Italian, French editions of Vogue. (NyMag.com)
This past summer she was one of the models featured at the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. Set to David Bowie's 'Fashion,' she wore a Vivienne Westwood golden gown along with other iconic models such as Kate Moss (whom Donaldson is said to be the next version of) and Naomi Campbell. In an interview with fashion journalist Derek Blasberg, she said, "Sometimes I feel sexiest when I'm just in my pajamas or overalls, and other times it's fun to show my legs off and put on a pair of heels. I don't think there should be any rules as long as you feel comfortable and, as a friend of mine says, fly your freak flag!"
