She was born in Sacramento, California and graduated from Casa Roble High School. Before she had even graduated from college, she was a traffic reporter in Sacramento at KXTV. She continued her experience at KRON in San Francisco before going to CBS 5 as the head of the Time-Saver Traffic Team.
