She is half-Hungarian, a quarter black and a quarter Anglo and grew up in a family-oriented small town as the oldest of five children. Her measurements are 32-25-32 and her nickname then was "Zohr," but now it's "J. Zo."
In school, she played soccer, was active in student council and was part of the cheerleading squad. Jessica began modeling at the age of six and landed on the campaign for Quaker Oats at ten. She also appeared in print ads for a variety of department stores.
Jessica Szohr graduated from high school a semester early and moved to Los Angeles with her mother at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career. She said, "In my senior year of high school, my parents sat me down and asked if I really wanted to go to college, or was I just doing it for them. So with their blessing, I decided to go out to Los Angeles for pilot season."
Jessica Szohr landed guest spots on shows such as "That's So Raven," "My Wife and Kids," "Joan of Arcadia," and "CSI: Miami." She landed a longer arc on the show "What About Brian."
But it was her role on the CW series "Gossip Girl" that put her in the spotlight. She said, "When I saw the pilot, I thought there's no way anyone actually had lives like that in high school."
Since then, Jessica Szohr appeared in the film "Piranha 3D" (which earned her a Breakthrough Actress in Film Award at the 2010 Breakthrough of the Year Awards), and "Love, Wedding, Marriage."
In her free time, Jessica Szohr likes snowboarding, hiking, yoga and soccer. She's also a Green Bay Packers fan. Notably, she has 11 tattoos. And in order to avoid any real-life gossip, she doesn't read blogs, and aside from Twitter does not use social media.
In 2008, Jessica Szohr was inducted into the Menomonee Falls High School Hall of Fame. Of being famous, she said, "I forget that I'm on a show people watch. If people do recognize me, I usually think they need directions to the subway" (askmen.com).
When she's not working, Jessica said she goes "to Central Park and walk[s] around with my iPod listening to Radiohead. I also like to go to the museums and art galleries and see bands perform. That's the great thing about New York, there's always something to do" (seventeen.com).
Jessica Szohr lives in New York City.
