Hana Nitsche was born in 1985 in the Czech Republic and quickly moved with her family to southern Germany when she was five. Hana went to school and enjoyed music, literature and arts along with taking various dance classes at her town’s youth center. Her grandmother was a tailor and Hana enjoyed dressing up in clothes that her grandmother would make, though her interest in modeling did not come until she was 16.
While on a family vacation in Italy, a photographer approached Hana Nitsche and asked her if she were interested in modeling. She decided to sign up with a German modeling agency at 16. Hana’s modeling career began to rise when she started shooting images for the first calendar of the German chocolate company, Lambertz. Hana garnered a lot of attention with this calendar and she was soon on the cover of Germany’s most popular newspaper.
After these campaigns, Hana Nitsche decided to enter into modeling contests. In 2005, she won the Model of Germany contest and in 2006 she won the Model of the World Platinum contest. Hana then traveled the work modeling and gaining fame in places like Paris, Athens, Dubai, and Milan. She was published in popular magazines including Elle, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, GQ, and Sports Illustrated. She made a transition into television, doing commercials for Coca Cola, Lord & Taylor, and other beauty companies.
In 2011, Hana Nitsche took part in an anti-fur ad for PETA. This was her first nude shooting where the slogan was, “Fur? I’d rather go naked.” More recently, Hana joined ONE1, a management group that represents the most popular supermodels in the industry. Fox News also announced her as Germany’s hottest new export.
In 2012, Hana Nitsche began dating entrepreneur and music industry mogul Russell Simmons. Simmons is famous for launching clothing line Phat Farm and Def Jam Records. Hana Nitsche continues to model and also interacts with her fans on her twitter page.
