Eliza Dushku is a mix of Albanian, Danish and English ancestry.
She grew up with three older brothers and I had a different personality for each one. I was the precocious kid and figured out early on how to be chameleon-likeI think I thought I was a boy until I was like 10 years old. My mother used to try to put me in flowery dresses and couldnt.
When Eliza Dushku was ten, she landed the lead role of Alice in the film That Night. She later landed opposite Robert De Niro in This Boys Life as well as roles in True Lies, Bye Bye Love and Race the Sun.
After graduating high school, Eliza Dushku got the role of Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She also starred in Bring It On, Soul Survivors, Wrong Turn, and Nurses. She performed in Dog Sees God in an Off-Broadway production, and appeared in a couple of music videos.
During this period, Eliza also starred in Tru Calling and later reteamed with Joss Whedon on Dollhouse. She also appeared topless in The Alphabet Killer.
When asked about her tendency to play bad-girl roles, Eliza Dushku said, A lot of that came from growing up and adolescence and finding myself. As an actress in public school in Boston, I was ostracized by kids in school. So immediately, on top of the tomboy thing, I developed this sort of hard-as-nails body armor, you know?
She told complex.com, Ive always had a plan B in terms of my life and my career. I love acting and producing, and I love this business, but at the same time my world is live-or-die based on if Im on the hottest show. So I live my life, travel, and see what else is out there for me to be a strong part of, you know?
As for being in show business since she was kid, Eliza Dushku said, Theres so much Im grateful for, and in other ways its probably driven me a little bit loca.
She has also starred in two video games, Yakuza and Saints Row 2.
Eliza Dushku is the CEO of her production company, Boston Diva Productions.
She has an Albanian Eagle tattoo on the back of her neck. She also applied for Albanian citizenship and obtained an Albanian passport.
Eliza Dushku lives with her boyfriend, Rick Fox, in Los Angeles.
