As a child, Claire Danes knew she wanted to be a performer when she saw Madonna on TV. She told the New York Times, I understood that performing could be ones vocation and I thought, yeah!

Claire Danes went to the Dalton School, the New York City Lab School, the Professional Performing Arts School and the Lycee Francais de Los Angeles. In 1998, with a recommendation letter from Oliver Stone, Claire Danes went to Yale. She stayed two years, but dropped out to continue her acting career. She told the Toronto Sun, I needed to find myself. I had played so many roles but didnt really know who I was.

Her first appearance was on Law & Order. But it was her role as Angela Chase in My So-Called Life that made Claire Danes a star. Even though the show was cancelled, it accrued a large cult following, and Claire Danes won a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination.

Its been reported that she turned down a part in Steven Spielbergs Schindlers List. The reasoning was the production, which was set to shoot in Poland, could not arrange a tutor for her (askmen.com).

Claire Danes appeared in the films Little Women, Home for the Holidays, I Love You, I Love You Not, Romeo +Juliet, U-Turn, Brokedown Palace, among many others.

In television, she appeared in Temple Grandin and Homeland. She has also done theatre, with roles in Pygmalion and Edith and Jenny. Of her role on Homeland, Claire Danes said, Shes the ultimate unreliable narrator.

Claire Danes was included in FHMs 100 Sexiest Women in 1997 and 1998.

Regarding relationships, she told The Times, I want to be in love always. It makes life more colorful and you have a partner in crime, who you know is going to give you a cuddle when you need one.

Claire Danes is married to Hugh Dancy. In July 2012, they announced they are expecting their first child. She said to People of their relationship, The best way to preserve it is to not talk about it.
