Although she originally planned to be a chef, she discovered a passion for modeling at a young age.
She became an IGN Babe in 2004 and a substitute model on the game show "Deal or No Deal" for 2006-2007. Other modeling gigs followed, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2010, where she was "Rookie of the Year." She was also featured in the 2011 edition. Friend and fellow model, Brooklyn Decker, pushed for Chrissy to get cast in the issue. She has also appeared in editorials for Vogue, Esquire, Glamour and Cosmopolitan.
Interestingly, "Fox and Friends" reports that Chrissy Teigen is terrified of swimming, even as she's been featured in swimsuit photo-shoots.
Chrissy Teigen has also been the face of various brands including Victoria's Secret, Billabong, Rock and Republic, Ed Hardy and Beach Bunny Swimwear.
Aside from modeling, Chrissy Teigen has dipped her toe into television work with appearances in Jimmy Kimmel sketches, a Cooking Channel show entitled "Cookies and Cocktails," as well as recurring as a guest host for "Extra" with Mario Lopez.

Chrissy Teigen has a love of cooking and food. As she told marieclarie.com, she got into cooking because "I was basically modeling for fun, but it wasn't ever something that I wanted to do to begin with. I always loved food and I think I needed an outlet. I didn't want to just talk about modeling all the time."
In May 2012, Chrissy Teigen was flooded with death threats from Chris Brown fans after she alluded to Chris Brown's performance (and lip-synching) at the Billboard Music Awards. As the threats escalated, Teigen got upset, "Reallly makes me sad that 99% of the most disturbing comments come from young girls. I'll end it there but it make[s] me sad." She added, "Don't throw around the term ho, c*nt. You're women. WE ARE WOMEN. And don't ever think a man can f**king control you. You guys are too young for this sh*t. too f**king young. How you can even form these sentences at someone you don't know makes me so sad."
When not working in the world of high fashion modeling, Chrissy is a talented cook and enjoys expanding her knowledge of food while traveling the world.
Of her mother, Chrissy Teigen said on Facebook, "It's really interesting when you see your parents as people rather than just your parents. I think the proudest time of my life was when I hit the age to realize this."
