Beth Behrs' family moved to Lynchburg, Virginia. By age four, Beth was performing in theatre. When she was fifteen, her family moved to Marin County, California.
Beth went to Tamaplais High School and got into its drama program. Trained as a singer, she also studied at the American Conservatory Theatre and performed in musicals.
Beth Behrs moved to Los Angeles and studied acting at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. In 2006, she was named Miss Marin Country. She graduated in 2008 with a degree in critical studies.
Beth Behrs landed her first film role in "American Pie Presents: The Book of Love," which was released direct-to-video. Other roles followed, including parts in "Serial Buddies," "Route 30, Too!" and guest appearances on "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Castle." She was working as a nanny and at the Geffen Playhouse when she auditioned for "2 Broke Girls." After seven auditions, she got the role.

As to being broke before landing the gig, Beth Behrs said, "I was broke before I got the show! I was a nanny, I've worked at Chili's, did temp work. I was actually telling [the creators of the show] about the odd jobs I did so maybe they'll incorporate that into the show."
As for the show being compared to "Laverne & Shirley," Beth Behrs said, "Actually, I've heard people say about ours is Lucy and Ethel [from "I Love Lucy"]. Which I love."
In regards to the chemistry Beth shares with co-star Kat Dennings, Beth said, "From the moment she flew in [for a read], we had chemistry. We had a two or three month break before we shot the pilot, and I talked to her " if not every day " every other day. Even on hiatus, we still talk all the time. It feels like I've known her, like, my whole life" (vulture.com).
Beth Behrs said in regards to the humor on the show, "They let us get away with a lot last year, but so far this year I've been shocked by some of the stuff we're allowed to do. We've shot six [episodes] so far and they're some of the most hilarious, shocking, wonderful ones we've had" (tvline.com).

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to David, a college president, and Maureen, a first grade teacher, Beth Behrs is probably best known for her role on the CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls."
