She studied at the Conservatoire de Paris for ten years. Her mother was a teacher, her father, a doctor.
Berenice had a hard time landing roles in France because casting directors didn't think she fit the mold of a French actress. "All the French agents told me, 'No, you don't look like a French actress, this will not work.' Even people who saw me in acting workshops and wanted to introduce me to people; when those people considered my picture, they said, 'No, she will never work in France'" (gq.com).
Berenice Marlohe added, "I only wanted to become an actor in France in order to work outside of France. With an English or American movie, there is just more magic.I really believe in signs."
Berenice's biggest claim to fame is playing Bond girl "Severine" starring opposite Daniel Craig in the twenty-third James Bond movie "Skyfall." She actually landed the part without the help of an agent. She tracked down the casting director's email and contacted her directly. "Skyfall" will be Berenice's first English-speaking role as well.

Berenice said her main inspiration for the role in "Skyfall" was not another actress, but singer Shirley Bassey. "Shirley is the incarnation of a Bond girl. She gives me the sense of a sexy, powerful woman and so I took a lot of my inspiration from her. She is so great and her voice " my God" (thesun.co.uk).
Before "Skyfall" Berenice Marlohe appeared in small roles in French television. Since filming, she said, "The big change for me is that now I have an amazing chance to read some great scripts" (hollywoodreporter.com).
Berenice Marlohe is also a brand ambassador for Omega Watches.
Her favorite actor is Christopher Walken "because for me, he is talented, of course, but also he has a quarter of an alien, one quarter of an animal, one quarter of a man and one quarter of a woman. And for me, that's what I like to see on screen" (gq.com).
Berenice Marlohe said, "Nobody wanted me in France before, and now everyone wants me. It's very funny. So I said, 'No way!' Of course, they want me now. What's the purpose? I did all the work myself. It's too late now. I want to work with people who trust me, who are professional, and who are not afraid to bet on new people."
