(Her mother was nineteen when she gave birth to Alexandra.) When she was ten, she and her mother moved to Los Angeles, and a year later, settled in Mill Valley, California.

When she was 13, Alexandra Breckenridge became interested in acting, and she performed in local theatre productions. At 15, she and her mother relocated to Los Angeles. She has an uncle, Michael Weatherly, who is one of the stars on NCIS.

Alexandras first gig was on Freaks and Geeks. Other roles followed, including parts on CSI, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Dawsons Creek, Undeclared, Medium and JAG. Other roles include Big Fat Liar, Opposite Sex, Dirt, The Bridge to Nowhere and True Blood.

Not seen, but heard, she lends her voice to Family Guy. She told FHM, I dont know why, but Seth MacFarlane really likes the sound of my voice. Ill never understand that. He just liked me and they call me back all the time to do different things.

Alexandra Breckenridge also had a guest role on American Horror Story. She told the LA Times, Now that the season of [American Horror Story] is over, lets just say Ive been eating a lot more lately. She said of her dyed red hair, I never learned why, but [Ryan Murphy, the creator] has a thing for redheads. Its a vampy red, like Jessica Rabbit. She added, though, Its nothing like my personality, Ive never acted that way. Alexandra Breckenridge said of acting, I dont want to get stuck on a medical show for seven years. Some people would give their left pinkie toe for that, but I just want to enjoy my work. And about Hollywood? Theres a lot of fakeness in Hollywood, and a lot of girls are out to get something. But Ive never been like that (FHM.com).

She is also known for her photography, which has been featured in several Los Angeles galleries.
