Paulina is the oldest of her four other siblings. She was born in Los Angeles only four months after her father was traded to the Los Angeles Kings.

Paulina Gretzky attended the Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City, and while she lived in New York, was accepted into the American School of Ballet.

Paulina Gretzky skipped college in order to pursue a career in acting and singer. Her first public performance was at the 2003 Heritage Classic with "I Will Remember You," in which she sang in front of 57,000 people in the outdoor Commonwealth Stadium. She received a standing ovation.

Paulina later sang the Canadian National Anthem during the 2004 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, Canada. She told complex.com, "People might think this has been easy for me, but I've been working hard at singing since I was 16. I went to Interlochen. I studied opera. I've paid my dues."

Paulina said, "Where I live around no one's pressured me to be Wayne Gretzy's daughter. Where my parents have brought me up my entire life no one's pressured me, and now I think is the time to show that I have talent as well as my family and they've just brought me up so well" (askmen.com).

Her song "Collecting Dust" made it on MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County." She made her modeling debut on the August cover of Flare, a Canadian fashion magazine. Notably, her mother, Janet Jones, posed for the same magazine years before she married Wayne. Janet and Paulina became the first mother-daughter to pose for the magazine.

But Paulina Gretzky may be more famous for her Twitter photos, in which she sometimes puts up risqué shots of herself. Rumor has it her father was not amused and Paulina Gretzky briefly shut down her Twitter account. She tweeted, "Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media.haha." She later added "Taking a break from Twitter for a bit."

Paulina later said, "The rumor that my dad made me shut down my Twitter account is completely false. I want people to see that I'm intelligent. I'm not a bimbo. I have an 8-year-old sister. The only thing I want to do is be a role model.I want my little sister to respect me and see how much I've accomplished. It's hurtful when this older generation of people that doesn't really understand me or take the time to get to know me trashes me." Paulina did admit, "I should have been more aware. I understand that. I just never had to censor myself before."
