Lucy Collett said, “I want to promote a healthy image for girls. I’m a size 12, which isn’t exactly big but it is for a model. But I love my food and get lots of messages of support from other girls.” Lucy continued, “I would never want to be stick thin…having squishy bits is feminine.” And “I’m not a gym junkie – I think the gym’s a waste of time.”
She added, “My mum was a bit disappointed at first, but now is behind me, as are my family, friends and boyfriend. I love modeling. It feels amazing to win.”
“Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved having my picture taken. I’ve always liked being the center of attention. Now I just loving showing off my body.” She thought she’d had no chance to win was a redhead. As a redhead, she gets compared to Christina Hendricks and Jessica Rabbit.
At the age of 15, she grew into her double Ds. “At first I was a little self-conscious, then my older sister gave me a tight top to wear and I got quite a lot of attention from boys. They had never taken any notice of me when I had a terrible wedge haircut and braces. Suddenly I thought, ‘Oh, guys like me now. This could be good.” That same year, however, her older brother, Jacob was killed during a night out. “I miss Jacob every day and go to visit his grave a lot.”
Lucy Collett also helps raise money for Help for Heroes. “A friend of mine was killed in Afghanistan, so it’s a cause that’s close to my heart.”
