Leah Remini also made news when she parted ways with the Church of Scientology. Her friend Michelle Visage said, “all of these people she thought were her friends are scattering. It’s like roaches, I’m not kidding. And it’s very difficult for her.”

When she was 13, Leah moved to Los Angeles with her mother and sister. She left school at 14 and worked odd jobs (waitress, cashier, and bill collector) before she hit it big on “King of Queens." She’d once worked as a telemarketer, and auditioned, but didn’t get, the role of Monica on “Friends.”
Her earliest role was on the sitcom “Who’s The Boss,” which led to a spin-off “Living Dolls.” Other series followed, including parts on “First Time Out” and “Fired Up.” Her co-star Kevin James once said she had the “mouth of a construction worker in the body of a model.”
Her inspirations came from Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett. “That is WHO gave me inspiration. WHAT gave me inspiration? I wanted to live a better life and wanted more for my mom.”
Since the end of “King of Queens,” Leah Remini worked on “The Talk” and “Family Tools.” Leah claims that she was fired from “The Talk” by co-host Sharon Osbourne, and the two had a public Twitter exchange. For her part, Sharon denied she had any role in Leah's exit from the show.
Leah Remini wrote on her blog that the best part of being a mom is the unconditional love you get from a child. “Acting, obsessing about the way I look, and general BS just doesn’t have any importance when you have been blessed with an amazing, healthy child.”
She admitted she is not a fan of any exercise. “I do it because I have to! I have a trainer who puts up with me…I complain most of the hour I am with them!”
Leah Remini resides in Los Angeles, California.
