Jennifer Esposito is Italian-American and grew up on Staten Island, New York. She attended Moore Catholic High School. “But my family isn’t stereotypical. I mean, I only have one sister and we don’t yell or throw pasta at each other. My mother doesn’t even have a secret spaghetti sauce recipe.”
Jennifer got her start in the entertainment biz dancing on Club MTV, and then laddered her way up in small parts. She trained as an actor at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.
She made her first TV appearance on “Law & Order” in 1996. Other roles followed, including parts on “Spin City” and “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,” among many others.

About Hollywood, Jennifer Esposito said, “I’ve never fallen into the evils of Hollywood, never had an eating disorder, I worked out to stay healthy, and never took a drug in my life. I learned to meditate and developed a strong spiritual center. I’ve been at my lowest and knew to count my blessings for what was, rather than for what was not.”
In 2008, she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. She has since developed a line of gluten-free products.
Jennifer was part of “Blue Bloods,” but CBS replaced her in what she felt was insensitive to her Celiac disease. Apparently, sufferers of the disease tire easily and are prone to depression. As of March 2013, she was working on a reality series that focused on life with the disease.

“I have an email from CBS that says my ‘disease’ in quotes was convenient for me at the time because they thought I wanted a raise.” She accused CBS of “absolutely shameful behavior.”
In her personal life, Jennifer Esposito has dated Benjamin Bratt and was married to Bradley Cooper. They were married only four months.
In April 2013, she opened the gluten-free bakery “Jennifer’s Way” in Manhattan. She said, “Food should be enjoyed, not feared.”
