Jenna Lee Dewan was born on December 3, 1980 in Hartford, Connecticut. However, this would not be her permanent home, as when she was still a young child, her parents divorced and she ended up moving with her mother to Dallas, Texas. While there, she attended Grapevine High School, where she was not only a cheerleader, but during her senior year, was voted the prom queen. From high school, Jenna set her sights west, and moved to California to attend the University of Southern California.
Since Jenna had spent her youth dancing, studying various forms of ballet and modern dance, she decided to try her luck in Los Angeles auditioning for background dancing roles for music videos. This would eventually lead to dancing in videos for singers like Missy Elliott, Toni Braxton, and Ricky Martin, but also touring with the likes of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, whom she'd done videos for as well. But soon, dancing would prove to not be enough for the young starlet. By 2004, she would officially make the jump to acting.

Starting out with small roles on shows such as "Quintuplets" and "Joey," she would soon realize that incorporating her dance into her roles was the real ticket to stardom. By 2006, she was not only dancing alongside veteran actor Antonio Banderas in "Take the Lead," but also her future husband, Channing Tatum in "Step Up." From here, the roles continued to fly in. While she would go on to star in a number of films, including "The Grudge 2" and "10 Years" (again, alongside now hubby, Channing Tatum), her real nest egg came from her various television roles. After starring in the TV movie "Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal" alongside Amber Benson, she would go on to land major roles on such series as "The Playboy Club" and "American Horror Story." All of her success eventually lead to starting a production company called 33andOut Productions alongside her husband, as well as friends Reid Carolin, Adam Martingano, Brett Rodriguez.
