Jaimie Alexander was born on March 12, 1984 in Greenville, South Carolina. She was only 4-years-old when her parents moved the family to Grapevine, Texas. Although she enjoyed acting at a young age, Jaimie claims to have been kicked out of her Colleyville Heritage High School theater class because she couldn't sing. She instead started playing sports. Possibly due to the fact that she grew up with four brothers, she was the only female on the school's wrestling team.
It was at age 17 that Jaimie's interest in acting was sparked once again. While filling in for a friend at a meeting for a scouting agency, she met her manager, Randy James, who began giving her scripts to read. By the time she graduated high school, Jaimie had decided to give acting another try, and moved to Los Angeles.
Like most actors starting out, roles came slowly at first. In 2003, however, Jaimie caught a break while reading lines for actors auditioning for the film "The Other Side." The director, Gregg Bishop, decided to cast her in a main role in the film just because of the way she was performing the lines with these actors. Although the film wouldn't be released until 2006, Jaimie kept busy with a role she acquired in a low budget film called "Squirrel Trap" in 2004, and a small part on the first season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" in 2005.
By the time "The Other Side" was released, Jaimie had plenty of new films and television series under her belt, including the lead in a horror film called "Rest Stop," a small role in the pilot episode of "Standoff," and most notably, a series regular part on the series "Watch Over Me." And just as soon as that series came to a close, she was cast in her most memorable role to date as Jessi on the ABC Family series "Kyle XY." From here, it was onward and upward for her career, as she would soon land recurring roles on series such as "Nurse Jackie" and "Covert Affairs," as well as in films like "Thor," "Loosies," and "The Last Stand," Arnold Schwarzenegger's first film after his run as Governor of California.
As of 2012, Jaimie has been dating her "Loosies" co-star Peter Facinelli. On November 8, 2013, you can catch her reprising her role as Sif in the follow-up to the original "Thor" film, "Thor: The Dark World."
