Growing up in North Carolina, Jaime Pressly spent nearly 11 years training in gymnastics. She later became a model while part of the International Cover Model Search. She was only 14 when she travelled to Italy and Japan. She landed on the cover of Teen Magazine when she was 14. A year later she became legally emancipated from her parents. Modeling was not without its drawbacks, as she struggled with bulimia.
Jaime Pressly had a nude scene in “Poison Ivy: The New Seduction,” though she finds kissing scenes awkward and doesn’t like filming love scenes, as they are too intimate. She later posed, however, for Playboy in 1998.
Roles continued to come her way, but it wasn’t until “My Name is Earl” that she cemented her place as a comedic actress. She hosted Saturday Night Live in 2006 and in 2007 she won an Emmy for her work on “Earl.”

In 2006, Jaime Pressly told Esquire magazine that she almost purchased a ticket on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center on 9/11, but didn’t because the flight left too early in the morning.
Her nickname is “Martha Jr.” because she loves gardening, is a neat freak and enjoys cooking. She has a tattoo on her lower back of a blue Leo sign with Japanese writing. It means “healthy, strong and brave.”
In 2007, Jaime Pressly gave birth to Dezi James Calvo from her relationship with Eric Cubiche. She also published a memoir, “It’s Not Necessarily Not the Truth: Dreaming Bigger than the Town You’re From.”
Jaime said her success had a lot to do with growing up in North Carolina. “Southern people are raised with a work ethic…I got discipline from my mom, and from my dad I learned perseverance.”
