Ida Ljungqvist is the first African-born and second Swedish model to be named Playmate of the Year. She is also the first Playmate of the Year to dedicate her title to philanthropic charities. Her measurements are 32D-21-35.

Ida Ljungqvist was born to a Swedish father and a Tanzanian mother. Her father worked for UNICEF. Though she traveled a lot as a child, Ida grew up primarily in East Africa and Southeast Asia and she can speak three languages: English, Swedish and Swahili.

She said, “My sexiest quality is that I have a very adventurous spirit. I am willing to try anything at least once.”
Ida believes life should be fun, that happiness is a choice, and she credits her open-mindedness with her childhood traveling the world.
Ida Ljungqvist has a degree in fashion design. She was discovered while working in Beverly Hills at a Bebe clothing store. She filed for divorce from her husband Joshua R. Lang in 2008. (They supposedly had a custody battle over their pet Chihuahua.)
Her turn-ons are “laughter and a great sense of humor. A guy who can disco and do the ‘sprinkler’ dance.” Her turn-offs are “close-mindedness, negative attitudes, arrogance and narcissism.”
Her favorite foods to make are red-velvet cake and lasagna. And what she values most in the world is "freedom and the ability to live a life where your wildest dreams can come true."
Her ambitions are modeling, writing short stories, learning a forth language and taking up golf.
