Heidi Montag grew up in Colorado, and after high school, met Lauren Conrad during freshman orientation at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. (Conrad was a member of “Laguna Beach.”) Both of them transferred to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Irvine, California, which is when Montag became a cast member of the show.
After the show ended, Heidi Montag moved to Los Angeles to take part in the spinoff “The Hills.” While on “The Hills,” she began dating Spencer Pratt, which caused the end of her friendship with Lauren Conrad and their feud became the central part of the series.
It was in 2009 that Heidi Montag first underwent plastic surgery and went from an A-cup to a 32C. She said, “It was really something that had been tormenting me and I was very insecure about. I thought about it for several years and I waited until I had the finances and really thought about it and was old enough to really make a mature decision.”
Though she was married in 2007 in Cabo San Lucas, the marriage wasn’t considered legal in the United States. In 2009, Heidi and Spencer officially tied the knot in Pasadena, California. They earned the moniker “Speidi.”
Heidi Montag said in 2009, “If women aren’t jealous of you, talking about you and cutting you down, then you’re a nerd. And I would never want to be that.” She and Spencer also took part with an interview with Al Roker of "Today" and the couple was described as “everything that is wrong with America.”
In 2010, she underwent surgery again and had whopping 10 plastic-surgery procedures in one day on November 20. She said she almost died from taking too much Demerol. Her album Superficial was released that year, as well.
Though she and Spencer filed for divorce in 2010, they reunited shortly afterwards.
Of her breast downsizing in 2013, she said, “I couldn’t conceptualize the weight of them in my body. They felt like bowling balls in my chest” and caused her neck and back pain and numbness in her arms. Heidi Montag resides in Santa Barbara, California.
