Gal Gadot (pronounced like "doll") was born in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel on April 30, 1985. She was raised there as well, in a very strict Jewish/Israeli family environment. But by the time she was 19, it was time for Gal to pursue her dreams of becoming a model. So, in 2004, she entered the Miss Israeli competition and ended up winning. This lead to her competing in 2004's Miss Universe competition in Ecuador, which she unfortunately didn't place in.
Growing up, Gal was also a member of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). Luckily, her position in the ranks didn't put her much in harms way, as she was a gymnastics trainer and put nowhere near the frontlines. However, it did end up getting her on the cover of the New York Post, albeit not in a way one would assume. In 2007, Gal posed for Maxim magazine's "Women of the Israeli army" photoshoot, and seeing as how she was the model on the invitation to the controversial issue's launch party, the newspaper used her picture for their front page headline. But any press is good press, and her modeling work for Maxim lead to becoming the lead model for Castro, one of Israel's leading clothing brands, in 2008.
Gal's modeling was also what kickstarted her career as an actress. After her 2007 Maxim spread, she was cast as the lead on the Israeli television drama "Bubot". She then decided to move her career to Hollywood, where she was cast in small roles on the TV series "Entourage," as well as films like "Date Night," "Knight and Day," and "Fast & Furious." The latter film lead to recurring roles in its sequels, "Fast Five" and "Fast & Furious 6."
As for Gal's personal life, she is married to Israeli businessman Yaron Versano. The two were wed on September 28, 2008, while Gal was still filming "Fast & Furious." As of November 2011, the couple are the proud parents of a daughter named Alma.
