Danielle Fishel is of half Maltese descent (an ethnic group indigenous to Malta). She began acting professionally at the age of ten, after being discovered in a community theatre. Fishel appeared in commercials and guest spots. Subsequently, her mother became her full-time manager. Originally cast as a guest star on “Boy Meets World,” Danielle Fishel became a regular cast member soon thereafter and worked from the ages of 12 to 19. She said, “I’ve met five little girls named Topanga, all after me, and I’ve heard about many more…it’s crazy and it’s flattering.”
Danielle Fishel said after her experience on the show, “If you’re a girl just off a young kid show and you’re 18, everyone wants you to be in their movie and take your top off. And that’s just not what I wanted to do.”

In 1998, she landed on the cover of “Seventeen” magazine. From 1999 to 2000, Danielle Fishel dated Lance Bass, whom she took to her high school prom.
She has also appeared in “National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze,” “Gamebox 1.0,” “The Chosen One,” and was a host of Style Network’s “The Dish,” “The Fuse 20,” and “Last Night on TV.”
In 2006, she reported on “The Tyra Banks Show” that she had lost 27 pounds on the Nutrisystem diet. Afterwards, the company contacted her to be a spokesperson.
From 2008-2012, she attended California State University, Fullerton and graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the age of 31 because she “wanted to have a second career later in life.” She met her fiancé when she became a tutor in math. She added, “If I had my way, my wedding reception might just be 3-4 hours of Usher’s music.”
Danielle Fishel is set to appear in the sequel of “Boy Meets World,” entitled “Girl Meets World.” She loves the schedule of television. “I like that with any success at all, hopefully, you get to work together for a long time.”
Danielle Fishel is “huge into 90’s rap. It’s my jam. My all-time favorite album is Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle.”
She lives in Los Angeles, California.
