Alexandra Ioanna Stan was born in Constanta, Romania on June 10, 1989. As a child, she was always interested in music, and quite talented to boot. She could often be heard singing popular melodies, as well as coming up with her own. Her ability to comprehend and create her own music eventually led to her competing in various music-related competitions, and even winning awards for her work.
The year 2009 ended up being a pretty fruitful year for Alexandra. Along with participating at the Mamaia Music Festival, she also released her first promotional single, titled "Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)," aka just "Lollipop." By early 2010, the song was already being played on mainstream radio stations in Europe (particularly Germany), which prompted her to release a new track, "Show Me the Way," that very same summer. She had also began touring in Romania. In September 2010, Alexandra premiered her second official single, "Mr. Saxobeat," which would go on to become her most successful single to date. The song not only topped Romanian charts for eight consecutive weeks, it also gained notoriety worldwide, peaking at #3 in the U.K. (the highest ever for a Romanian artist), as well as in the top 30 in both the U.S. and Canada.

The massive success of "Mr. Saxobeat" led to Alexandra's first full-length album, "Saxobeats," in August 2011. The album contained eight new tracks, as well as five remixes, and spawned two more hit singles: "Get Back (ASAP)" and "1,000,000." She has since released singles named "Lemonade" and "Cliche (Hush Hush)." She planned to release a new album in September 2013, but due to an abusive altercation with her manager, Marcel Proden, it has been postponed.
