Lady Gaga Got One Thing Right

Lady Gaga told E! Online that she’s “delusional about her fame,” spewed more self-indulgent bullshit about “Judas,” and made one really good point.

So, given all this talk about acceptance, you’d think there would be nothing her Ladyship can’t tolerate. But you’d be wrong: whatever you do, don’t call her an icon.

“I believe it takes a lot of time. The definition of iconography is repetition of imagery, I haven’t been around long enough yet. Give me at least 10 more years.”

Lady Gaga is a repetition of imagery from Madonna, David Bowie, Grace Jones, and Gargamel. By her own definition, I think it’s safe to call her an icon now.
